Nancy Guay Giesberger

Handweaver, artist and commercial designer Nancy Giesberger (formerly Nancy Allen Guay) has been experimenting with new materials for many years. While working for Jack Lenor Larsen in the early 1970s she was piece-dyeing and handweaving materials such as mylar, copper wire, and PVC-coated yarns, a practice that she continues today.

As a designer she has worked with mills, textile distributors, and furniture manufacturers throughout the United States and abroad. She has exhibited nationally and internationally, including at The Museum of Modern Art’s 1985 exhibition “The New Classicism” and in “Designing Modern Women 1890-1990” in 2014.
