The Microsystems Laboratory at the University of California Irvine conducts cutting edge research and provides multidisciplinary academic training in the field of Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS). The Laboratory develops chip-scale gyroscopes and Inertial Measurement Units (IMU), and its researchers participate in the full cycle of development, including theory, design, modeling, fabrication, control electronics, packaging, and hands-on experimentation. Research and development are funded by both government and private industry.
