David Armstrong-Jones, Viscount Linley, known professionally as David Linley, is one of Britain’s best known furniture maker-designers. He specializes in high quality and sophisticated combinations of materials in furniture and other designs that reference history but are firmly rooted in the contemporary. A skilled practitioner of inlay and of architectural design as applied to decorative art objects, he caters to collectors of many periods. While the launch of his career in 1985 may have been facilitated through his family’s prominence— his parents are Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon—Linley was quick to make his own mark and establish an influential practice through his top level designs and execution.
