Anita Askild

Anita Askild (Feinstein) was a painter, designer and weaver who also taught textile design at Pratt Institute. Caravan, her design for Jack Lenor Larsen Incorporated, has become a classic in his textile collection. Her paintings are in a number of private and public collections, and her weavings have been shown at the American Craft Museum (now the Museum of Art and Design) in New York City and have been featured in Time, Life, and Women’s Wear Daily. She was born in Sweden and trained at the Konstfack, the Stockholm arts academy. She came to the United States in her mid 20s and studied painting with Hans Hofmann and with Sam Feinstien, whom she married in 1963.(1)
