Towel Cover, 1813

Towel cover with cross borders in geometric and floral designs, peacocks and plants worked in cross stitch. At the bottom a band of drawnwork showing a lozenge shape with plants on either side embroidered in darning and overcasting stitches. The towel is ornamented with four applied bands with warp fringes. Warp fringe at bottom.
