Table Cover (Italy), 16th century

Oblong table cover of white linen with cutwork bands across the ends in simple geometric patterns and highly stylized embroidered designs in tan and blue-green. Narrow border, half inch, of cutwork and simple embroidered design surrounds the entire cover. Narrow looped fringe in the same tan and blue-green trims the piece.
