Sidewall – Sample, Diamond Mosaic, 1955

Three samples removed from “American Futures III, Volume 19” sample book. a) Cockle Shells – randomly arranged shells having the appearance of being photographically reproduced. Each shell has gold highlights. Printed on a tan background simulating sand; b) Diamond Mosaic – grid pattern composed of tiny diamond motifs. Printed in three shades of yellow on white ground; c) Courtyard Texture – grid pattern forming vertical rows, alternating between narrow and wide. Composed of small rectangular boxes, each containing different textural elements. Printed in brown using blue print process.
