Shawl Border (India), early 20th century

Shawl border fragment with a horizontal repeat of two variants of vase and flowers in twining framework of stems with small leaves and flowers. Scrolling floral guard band with decorated guard strip above and below. In pale tan with slightly darker outlines and accents on a beige ground. One raw end, one plain loom ending, and reinforced selvedges on long sides.
