Sash (France), late 18th century

Sash of sky-blue ribbon patterned with a broad central band with a symmetrical repeat of stylized heart and arabesque forms in blue, coral, and cream warp floats. Hanging decorations are formed from knots and flowers of silk floss and basket-like forms of bobbin lace and leno weave of silk and linen cord.
