Sarong, Sea Weed, 19th century

Batik sarong in brown, pink, and dark blue. Dark blue seaweed pattern placed freely over the pink-brown ground in the body or ‘badan’ of the piece. The head or ‘kepala’ (broad band with different coloring and pattern than remainder) shows dark ground with floral pattern.
