Sarong, late 19th–early 20th century

Long narrow panel with rectangular field with diagonal lattice framing small flowering pants on a yellow/ochre background: wide border at each end in four sections – each decorated with pendant forms, top and bottom red background and remailing two yellow/ochre on deep purple ground. Continuous outer band framing field and end borders patterned by a repeat of two alternating medallions with floral guard stripe on each side. (MS’72)
