Purse (France), late 17th–early 18th century

Small envelope-shaped case. Very faded and soiled rose color with a woven design in silver. Symmetrical stylized design of flowers and foliage. Lined with cream white taffeta. Has been edged with very narrow silver braid which remains under one flap.
