Pleated Fan And Case, late 19th century

Pleated fan. Leaf of cream-colored Milanese bobbin lace, probably 18th century; it has been cut to make a fan with picot edge added to it.The reverse side of the lace has been used for the obverse of the fan leaf. Bail and sticks of a clear orange-colored material resembling shell.
