Miser’s Purse (France), 1830–60

Netted white silk ornamented with gold and cut steel beads, on one side only, in a zigzag and stylized floral pattern. One ring of cut steel rimmed in gold controls side opening. At one end a fringe of gold and steel beads; at the other, a tassel of twisted gold and steel beads.
