Frieze (France), 1840–45

A band of alternating oval and rectangular medallions along the upper edge. Below this a long enframed medallion stretching horizontally. Foliate clusters interrupt the latter from above and below at the medallion’s center point. The same cluster form alternates horizontally with the large medallion.
