Coffeepot (USA), 1825–50

Urn-shaped body with spreading foot and concave shoulder and greek key border. Fret band on shoulder, beading on foot and rim. Spout with repousse flowers; handle curved, with leaf repousse. On hinged cover, the seated figure of a Chinese, in the round. Engraved on one side: “Gussie from Father and Mother.” Monogram on opposite side: “A J(?)S(?).”
