Border, 1790–1810

The top and bottom bands edging the design consist of lozenge-and-reverse-“S” pattern. These border the center of the strip which contains geometric shapes formed by six-line ribbon stripes criss-crossing at diamond-shaped motif. Geometric shape encloses row of stylized flowers and leaves. Diamond shape encloses daisy-like flower. Printed in orange, white, gray and deep turquoise on black ground.
