Bedcover (Spain), 18th century

Large bedcover of cream-colored linen embroidered in light yellow, yellow-green, blue, rose and white silk. The design is laid out in a central panel with a narrow border at the edge. Central panel has a design in natural scale of symmetrically arranged curving vines ending with flower heads, carnations, tulips, and lilies with occasional birds in the foliage. Borders have a vine pattern.
