Armchair (USA), 1885–1886

Oblong, rounded upper frame and circular seat frame superimposed to a circular stretcher. Long, curved armrails depart from seat back and loop around in air to connect to the seat frame. Another bent wood half-loop emulates the shape and direction of the top of the seat back. Legs taper, with back legs pointing outwards more drastically as they meet the floor.
